WOW! I just got my Mr. Gasket solid copper exhaust manifold gaskets. What
a work of art. I hate to take them outta the package! These are .043 thick
solid copper with highly embossed flanges around the ports. They look really
nice and if these babies don't seal my leaks I dunno what will. They also
come with HEAVY DUTY lock washers which are like nothing I have ever seen
before. Small diameter but twice as thick as normal washers. Very unique. I
would think these would dig into the header bolts and flanges BIG TIME!
Maybe save some retorquing, I hope. Must be awfully hardened to withstand
that kinda heat!
Also these gaskets are slick in that they are designed to have the
outside two manifold bolts started loosely BEFORE you add the gasket. They
simply slip on the two outside bolts via slots in the gasket (through the
loose gap between the head and headers) then you add the remaining bolts to
torque and finish the job. We'll see how these babies do but I am very
impressed... just wish I could have figured a way to glue a few pennies on
the manifold to save the cost of these gaskets! (G)
