Dave,

That's where mine is located.

It screws right into the block, located above the axle and there is a
frostplug slightly to the rear of the knocksensor.

A word of caution. If in too tight it'll be overly sensitive. Tighten
sufficiently so that it doesn't leak and then start testing.

Thanks Emery.

Meant to mention it in my original reply so as to avoid that exact
confusion. The location I mentioned was where the knock sensor was installed
when I had the Howell and the location was retained with the Rance EFI.
