Excuse this question if it is an issue already covered, as I am new to this.

Is there any difference between 455 engines from different vehicles? I know
the intake on a Toro 455 is unique in order to give low profile needed for
GMC application, but what I don't know is this:

Could one take any 455, from say a delta 88, and put on a Toro style intake,
or are there other differences that would make such a transition difficult?

Someone told me that the angle of the exhaust manifolds are diff on the 2
engines, and the Toro manifolds are unique, but are there any other
difference? Toros are rather hard to come by, while I can easily lay my
hands on a 455 from a more ordinary Olds.

As always, any insight is most appreciated.

Thanks Tony B.

Other than nickel content there is no difference in any of the olds 455
blocks. Any olds 455 manifold will fit any block. In fact most parts are
interchangeable with the olds 425 engines also.
