Engine transmission worth getting?

My brother stored a GMC transmission in his barn for the last 40
years...  When he died this year and all the zillions of cars, vans,
trikes, are being sorted out and sold, this probably remains in a corner
somewhere.

My question to the group:  Is a used GMC transmission like this of
enough value for someone to go find it in a barn full of other parts in
Cleveland?  If it was up to me I would give it away to anyone who would
repurpose it;  others are involved so they would probably ask some money
for it.   If so, let me know and I will make arrangements so it can be
'rescued.'

The transmission being a GMC Motorhome (Olds or Cad) FWD unit does have value, but only as a core to be rebuilt! $50 Max or free. Will have to be taken totally apart and cleaned and see what parts are not reusable because of rust or water damage and all the rubber are junk also. Even if it was stored correctly it would still have to come apart and still check and replace the rubber parts.

talk to the local club. Someone would want that transmission.

it is probably no good in it's current state, but many transmissions that are getting tore down and rebuilt, need a few of the "hard parts".
Chains are starting to be a little harder to find, and I know 2 people in the past 2 years who had to go find a different core for a few pieces that
were completely shot in their transmissions.
