Several years ago when I was doing marine electronics repair, I was requested by
a very large distributor to evaluate a new depth sounder he was planning on
selling. I found three problems with that unit. When I reported these to the
distributor's sales manager, he immediately put me on the phone with the
manufacturer. I spoke directly with the design engineer. I described the first
problem which he said had already been corrected. I then started to describe the
second problem. He interrupted me & said: "Look, as long as people buy it what
difference does it make?". The distributor declined to buy the product.

I can list another example of such omnipotence, but it would be redundant.

I doubt these companies are alone in this world with such an attitude. So you can
imagine all you want. There are "crooks" out there just waiting to pounce on the
"innocent".
