Chuck, Johnny, et al,
That's certainly a financially attractive suggestion. But I think I'll go
with the slightly more economical option of taking the Lexus to the garage
on Tuesday. They're going to change all the fluids except the engine oil
-- which I changed a couple of months ago. The others, transmission, PS, &
brake fluid have never been changed, at least during my 13 years or so of
ownership. I probably did change the anti-freeze once. Might even have
them install the set of rear brake pads I bought a couple of years ago when
I gave it its first set of front pads.
If that doesn't help with the problem, I guess I'll have to take the
drastic action of swapping keys with her -- mine must be inserted for the
engine to run, unlike her "magic" one.
Thanks for all the ideas -- I had no idea there would be such a great
response.
