Just a simple question- unfortunately the simple ones
sometimes don't get answered.

My owners manual says the engine oil filter should be an AC
PF-30. The former owner, a very thorough guy with
maintenance, also wrote in a NAPA part number 1258. When I
went to the local parts store to get a new filter, the
conversion chart for both PF-30 and NAPA- 1258 sent me to a
Purolator 200033, which I bought. It is about 4 3/4" dia by
4 1/4 long. My coach actually has a PF-48 which is about 3"
diameter by 5" long. Since I would call the oil filter a
sort of important item, I'm questioning which is correct.
Any advice?

By the way I'm converting to Mobil 1, mainly for it's higher
heat resistance.

The following are the correct numbers for the various interchangeable oil
filters for the 455 and 1977 403 engine:

AC Delco PF-24
FRAM PH-25
HASTINGS T-222
LEE LF-24
MOTORCRAFT FL-9
NAPA 1258
PUROLATOR PER-33
SHELL S-16
TEXACO T-16
UNION PF-24
WIX 51258

Personally I would use nothing but a FRAM on my engine.
