Looking for hot tips regarding replacement of the flexible part of oil
cooler hoses-

Anyone discovered an especially good product for this purpose?

Thanks!

Brent,
J.R. Slaten who is a GMC owner makes and sells the stainless steel
braided hoses for both the 455 and 403 engines. They are first quality,
bulletproof and should never have to be replaced ever again. He is a
member of the GMCNet and you can reach him at jrslaten and his
phone number is 502-363-3011.

Brent,
When I recently replaced my oil cooler lines with JR Slatten's parts, I
first thought that all I needed would be the flexible hose parts.
However, after I got the lines off---including the solid tubing parts
that connect to the oil filter adapter--- I found small but deep
corrosion pits in the line the closest to the exhaust manifold. The
pits were on the the tube's backside and were not readily visible before
I had them off in my hands for inspection. Needless to say I end up
replacing everything between the oil filter and radiator. You might want
to inspect your tubing carefully while or before installing just the
flexible hoses. Good luck.
