Hello,

I tried to contact Chuck Botts directly via eMail and PM, both didn't work, so here comes a plain forum message, input from others is greatly
appreciated as well:

I read your article (http://gmcws.org/blog/silent-running-how-to-reduce-engine-noise-by-chuck-botts/) about using Silent Running SR-500 on your
cockpit's
floor.

No idea, when you did it, but are you still satisfied with the results,
or would you do something different nowadays?

Hi Oliver, We used the Silent Running applying it with their spray gun. We then used Soundown 2 lb per foot 1/2" carpet underlayment. It has done a
pretty good job of abating the Diesel clatter which is considerably more pronounced than the gas motor noise. The silent Running is really better at
reducing noise from a metal panel which tend to act as a drum. I can't give you an answer as to it's effectiveness alone. The down side of the
Soundown is the weight. At 2 lbs a sq foot, we've added near 150 lbs to the front of the coach. It's also a bit expensive and heavy to transport.

Thanks guys for the heads up - now I just need to convince the seller to find someone who doesn't charge three times the products price for shipping
to Germany. Maybe Parcel Monkey will come to the rescue. I'll keep you posted.

already asked for an EU distributor. They are in talks, but don't have anything atm. I'll check if something similar is available locally, but my
hopes aren't too high.

Have you looked into buying it on eBay from a US seller? eBay has set up an program that uses a shipping consolidator to keep international shipping
costs don't. Far cheaper than standard shipping. Caveat, not all sellers will so overseas. Good luck.

Hi Peer,

ASK, Yves Chung, from Belgium, he has on a regular base, shipments by container coming in for his company from the US.
He offered at our GMC Europe meeting to facilitate the transport of bigger and heavy items to Europe that way.
If you are not in a hurry ...
