Engine Longevity?

I really hate to get into this discussion because it may sound like I am
bragging (okay, so I am!)

My '77 came with a 403ci which was pulled after 200,000 miles. The
current engine, a 455ci, has 270,000 with only a valve job and a new
timing chain about 70,000 miles ago. She runs like a top and I go
anywhere without a worry.
Of course no one can plan for something jumping up off the pavement and
wiping you out as in Ron and Sharyn's case.

These old engines are bullet proof, just take care of them and "Don't
Worry, Be Happy"!
