Engine @ ~100, 000 miles, runs good but all original, what to do?

I use remflex because I have headers, no copper gaskets available.
Ive had them for 10 years no problem

My personal opinion on exhaust manifold gaskets is that Dave Lenzi's copper gaskets are the best. I have used them on my coach and never had a
failure. The only time I have had to replace them is when I have had to remove the manifolds for some reason. I have heard of Remflex failures from
several other people and wondered why they keep using them. If you have headers, different story.

We have tried various gaskets.
The main fact that the headers are hand welded so the ports never match any
gaskets very well.

I too have used the remflex exhaust gaskets for the last 12 years with out
issues. I too also have headers.

Solid soft copper gaskets,WHEN THE MATING SURFACES ARE FLAT AND PARALLEL,
are very long lasting.
Remflex are effective on irregular surfaces. I have a very early set
of Jardine headers on my 403. The flanges are very thick compared to other
headers I have seen and used. I have had the same set of gaskets on my
engine since they were installed at least 10 years ago. I torqued them once
after installation and have left them alone since then. I have had the
gaskets between the collectors and mufflers fail. They were composite
metal/organic gaskets fastened with spring loaded studs and nuts. Secret to
longevity is surface prep. Gotta be flat.
