Emery Stora

I stumbled upon this while looking for my Grandfather's obituary, it's touching to see how many people cared about him, and how many lives he has bettered. My Grandfather was a wonderful man, and I'm honored to be his grandson. I wish I had the courage to come out to him sooner, before he passed, but I know he loves and supports me just as he loved and supported everyone he met.

Thank you all for the kind words, maybe one day I'll have a GMC of my own and meet some of you wonderful folks.

Emery was an amazing man. Honored to have known him and so glad so many of his posts and wisdom are saved here for us to continue learning from.

I found Emery late in his life, maybe the last six years, but I had the pleasure to sit with him and Michele for many meals and a rather memorable, extended work session. Over the years we solved many problems, nearly all of them mine, and shared stories and life experiences like we'd been friends for decades. I suspect many had a similar experience with him. Emery was a rare duck. He brought together an engineers mind, a habit of looking for data before making a decision, with a compassion for the the people he met. Your problem was his problem. In my experience he was comfortable enough in his skin and circumstance so that he wasn't the slightest bit judgemental. I'm quite sure he would have embraced you as the fine human you are. For all his troubles we laughed a lot together and that, young one, is the very root of wisdom, the ability to laugh at yourself. Emery was a very wise man. I miss him.
