Emergency Vacuum Pump question re parts required.

I'm finally going to add the vacuum pump. I have the GM partnumber from
Patrick's website but am wondering about the 'extras' mentioned when
salvaging from pick 'a part.

I'm planning to go new. It's one of those false economy times to go
salvaging and besides the roads are miserable and I'm still on sandbag
detail to try and keep our yard from being swept into our little waterfilled
gravelpit.

There was mention of a filter and plug. I havn't checked to see what would
actually come with a new pump from GM. I thought I'd research in comfort
first :-)

Or... does anyone know of a 'kit'?

Thanks in advance

Heinz,
I bought a new pump from

MP MASTER POSER BRAKES
254-1 ROLLING HILLS RD.
MORRESVILLE, NC 28115 USA
704 664-8866
FAX 704 664-8862

The price was $269.95 plus $20 shipping. Purchased 11/98. The pump comes
complete with mounting isolator bracket (put mine on the firewall to the right
of the driver foot well -- moved the horns), vacuum switch and wiring harness.
The only thing additional needed is a standard vacuum filter ($8 at local parts
house) and a length of new vacuum hose with clamps.

It is a secure feeling to feel the pump come on when I've been on the brakes in
traffic. I consider this a #l GMC upgrade.

No kit Heinz, I bought mine from Duane Edwards and he gave me all the parts and
a diagram of how to install them. If you want a copy of the diagram, give me
your fax nubmer and I will be glad to get it to you.

Have it under control I think.
Talked to Leigh Harrison today and he had a kit on the shelf. Since I
already have a few of his goodies it was a no-brainer once I knew he had it
:-)

Hope to install on monday.

Thanks to all for the pointers.
