Eleganza

You're right. According to @Bill Bryant (GMC Motorhome historian) in Story Of A Classic, The GMC Motorhome, "The 1975 model year brought many changes to the GMC Motorhome. New model names were announced; Eleganza II and Palm Beach replaced the previous models.

The Eleganza II is also featured in the June, 1974 GMC document Operation Conquest.

Question…

74 eleganza SE

76 Eleganza II.

I have seen both models.

I see on one space it shows an Eleganza for 1975.

Was there an eleganza model? Without the II. Or SE?

Any idea on history of the naming of that model?

My coach is identified as a 1976 Elaganza II but there is a problem.

It has the lpg tank located in an additional compartment just in front of the door.

There is no identification on the exterior of which model it is.

There have been few versions with the lpg in a smaller compartment but my coach seems to be unique.

I did email Bill…. Not sure if he will respond.

I was always under the impression there was no Eleganza I. Thought it was odd they went to with the name of Eleganza II without much explaining.

I am going to stick with that thought.

There are many 1975 eleganza II’s listed for sale over the years.
