Seems as if there is a lot of interest in the electric windshield wiper
conversion so here is what I know (because I did it):

We get LOTS of rain here on the Oregon coast and the road mist that
follows the rain really was a annoyance with the hydraulic original
wiper motor. I purchased the replacement electric wiper kit from
GOLBY. I was at first astounded at the price, $446 plus $17 shipping,
but when I received the kit I could see the value.

The motor itself is a very substantial Bosch motor. It is mounted on a
heavy welded bracket that mates exactly with the existing bracket after
removing the original motor. The new electric motor drives the wipers
through a well constructed cam linkage. The original arms going to the
individual blade cams snap on to the new cam just like they snapped on
to the original motor cam. The installation of the motor was about as
straight forward as it could be requiring only a few sockets and box
wrenches. My only extra work involved moving the location of my aux.
brake vacuum pump to clear the new wiper motor. The kit instructions
were very clear and all parts required, right down to lock washers and
hose clamps, were in the kit.

The kit included hoses and fittings for the plumbing revision required
to the power steering plumbing once the original wiper motor is removed
from the circuit. Again, super simple to do.

The new wiper motor is controlled by a switch which mounts in the dash
in place of the slide control for the original motor. The kit includes
a nice filler panel to close up the original slot. The original washer
switch is bypassed since the new switch has a press-to-wash feature.
All the wiring harness is connected with matching connectors, ready to
plug in.

Now the wiper has an intermittent setting plus three wiper speeds just
like you would get on most '99 cars. Total time to install, about 6
hours but I spent a lot of time just basking in the Oregon sunshine
while "working".
