Electric Vehicles

Ken, is your place all electric? We do everything we can on gas and buy electricity from Jackson EMC at a bit less than Ga Power. I did get caught
last month in the screwing Scana Energy runs - a dollar thirty four a therm. Swpa to Ga Natural Gas and levelled billing, works out to about 32 - 33
cents a therm. We even dry clothes with gas.

Johnny,

We're "mostly" electric -- only the two full baths use gas to heat water.
The rest of the house is heated/cooled by two heat pumps. With about 3000
sf, plus me keeping the workshop comfortable any time I'm working in or
near there we probably earn the high bills. My usual refusal to sleep
under covers means we can't turn the heat down much at night too. :-(

We keep the place at 73 around the clock - Paula refuses to cool down at night. It's ~~ 2/3rds the apce of yours, and my shop ~~half the size of
yours - isn't heated. Heat pumps up here need torun he heat strips one or two days a year, you probably don't need them. If my GMC would fit, I'd
heat the shop, it's plumber for gas and has a space heater which is turned off at the house. If I get the brakes complete andstart in on some
upgrades to the ratrod toad, I'll heat the shop - it will fit in.

Johnny...
I had to google what a "Therm" was. No natural gas here either so we use propane for heat as well. I figure we are paying the equivalent of $1.70USD
/ therm.

House runs about $700Cdn and shop $400cdn each time they fill, which is about every 5 weeks in the winter months. Works out to about $4,200Cdn last
year... likely over $5k this winter for heat... nothing else runs off of propane here.

My Staff says I never listen to them, or something like that

Like I said earlier, there's a reason I turned down a fairly lucrative job with the CBC some decades ago :)
