Is there such an animal for the GMC that folds out of the way enough that
it doesn't get damage by the GMC low ground Clarence?

GMCs didn't come with steps. They tried to make the coach low enough so
steps weren't necessary.

I have the Ragguza aluminum fold up step and it is simple, works like a
charm, needs no maintenance and is fairly indestructible, once you get in
the habit of folding the step before you take off.

In one of my four wheel drive magazines there is an ad for a automatic
step made by Kodiak. It is called the sidewinder. Instead of folding in
in out it folds up and down. Thebottom of the ad states that there a
recognized leader in designing & manufacturing automatic steps for the
RV industry.

I hope this is some help to you guys that want automatic steps, Brad.

There is an electric step designed especially for the GMC. They are
made by Ken Rose @210-681-2440. Cost is approx $350 with controls and
is made out of stainless steel with non skid step pad.

Larry Nelson,

Concerning your electric step; I was at Golby's late summer and saw a
coach on their lot which I think has the same step as you. Their service
guys might be able to provide information.

I have a swing out (home made) step that has a couple of arms that swing out
the step. Work wonderful. Working on a light to come on so you can see the
step at night time. Think it should be hooked on a separate switch rather
than the porch ligt switch though. When we are parked the step is out in
place. It only take a little push and it self lock beneath the coach and
above the lowest part of the frame rail. Maybe I can get down and take a
descent photo and JPG it to you all if you want it. It is S I M P L E .
