Electric fuel pump

So I’ve bought the Applied GMC electric fuel pump and have a question about the bypass valve. The pic I’ve found shows the bypass going around the
fuel filter, not sure why. On Facebook I’ve been told the pic is wrong, should be around pump. If that’s the case, I’m removing the mechanical
pump so do I even use the bypass? Or should I just replace the mechanical and leave it in line? Advice on these matters and maybe an updated photo
would be appreciated

Talk to Jimk or Nick at Applied. The mount comes with the pump from the manufacturer. As far as the bypass goes. It is there to allow the
mechanical pump to pull gas without pulling through the electric pump. If there is no Mechanical pump then there is no need for the bypass check
valve.
