Norm,
I am really pleased to get your report as I have removed my engine fan and
will try using electric fans.
You said it was recent, but can you tell us what types of driving
conditions you have tested it in so far?
Any mountains or long grades with a toad on hot days? Also is your GMCMH
lean and trim or a bit on the obese?
I made up a flat aluminum plate that is bolted to the rear of my radiator
mounting frame.
It is the new shroud and holds two 16" electric puller fans I plan to
experiment with. If needed there is room on the shroud for two additional
14" fans.
Sounds like two fans may be overkill, but maybe I'll be able run them in
series for longer life and less noise.
Removing the engine fan and its shroud really opens up the front of the
engine for maintenance access.
Hope I get to keep them and your report sounds like I should be able to.
