First: follow emery's suggestion that you put in some male/female
plugs where you can disconnect the EKE if need be.

Second: I don't think it matters that you have the toad or not. You
need a hill that will strain the engine and allow it to ping...
that's when you adjust the thing. Look at the pictures on Gene's site
so you can see the neat place the emery suggested we put mine.

Larry,
I set mine up without the Toad in tow. I just got back from a 3700 mile
trip from Texas to upstate NY pulling a Tracker. I didn't do any further
EKE adjustment, used regular gas and had no problems.
