Anyone know of a very low profile intake manifold for an EFI that will keep
the doghouse from raising its ugly head? Right now the cover raise is about
6 inches. Thank you PO.

This is for a friend as I am a quad guy.

Dean,

I don't understand the problem: IIRC, when I had the 455 with OEM
manifold, the Holly Throttle Body and later the GM TB, was no taller than
the Quadrajet and so did not require raising the hatch cover.

Even with the taller Cad500 installed with the GM TB, I've only had to
slightly raise about a 1/2" high aluminum dome over the cutaway plywood
hatch cover.

Even when I bought the GMC with a Quadrajet on the 455 with an Edelbrock
Performer manifold, the hatch was raised by only about 4". I have to
wonder what manifold your friend is using that's even taller than that one.

Our kits use a thinner base plate and a ring adapter under the Air Cleaner.
If your friend has a Hi Rise intake, he must raise the center of the dog
house.

Some people have raised the body above the frame 1-2 inch.
