Understanding that I do not yet own a GMC, and am learning a lot from this
list, perhaps my knowledge of fibreglass/aluminium car bodies may be of=
help.

Quite a few of the postings seem to cover problems I've experienced ...

I have seen starter motors that won't, or prematurely burn out. Fuel pumps
that won't. Lights that have a mind of their own and airconditioners that
groan through lack of power. Many of these faults were attributed to bad
earthing.

In Oz we can go to an electrical shop and buy copper braid by the roll.
It's around 1" - 2" wide and about 1mm - 2mm thick.

What I used to do was to run a strip of this down the centre of the
vehicle, from front to rear. Then solder and bolt take-offs at 90=B0 to all
the metal bits that required earthing ... ie motor, starters, fuel pumps,
a/c, fridges, etc.

It was a pain in the butt to do it, but it never failed to ensure trouble
free motoring thereafter.

Sorry if I'm preaching to the converted, but mention it just in case.

Pieter
