Les,

I am a digester, so I don't always respond very fast. Anyway, read your
message about our rally in Durango. Attached please find registration for
that rally.
You are most certainly welcome, member or not. We have several coming from
outside our club; Arizona, New Mexico, and Nevada. I will need your
registration soon though. This area is a little difficult to get
reservations this time of year.

I am also sending a copy of this, minus the attachments, to the GMC NET as
there may be others that may want to join us. EVERYONE IS WELCOME!!!!!!!
Jerry

Yes, in order to officially join the Mountainaires one needs to be a member
of FMCA. But don't let that keep you from joining us as our guest and HAVE
A GREAT TIME GUARANTEED!!!!!!! (lemonade party at 4:30 Saturday afternoon
and BAR-D CHUCKWAGON dinner and show to follow).
At this time I have in hand 19 coaches registered. Plenty of room for more
but must be soon in order to satisfy the park for registration guarantee.
The more the merrier.

Les, I, too, might be interested---but I don't even know when this event is
going to take place!

Could you maybe post a coupla details?

Thanks,

Travis in Lubbock, Texas where it is hot and dry and Durango would be a nice
respite.

78 Palm Beach for a whole week now!

Just in case there are others that would like to join us in Durango July
21,22,and 23, contact me off net and I will provide necessary registration
forms and anything else I can in order for you to make it. I think Emery is
correct in that one must join FMCA in order to join the MOUNTAINAIRES or any
other related club. I don't think(the operative work here is THINK) it is
necessary to join ANY club in order to rally as a guest.
Let me know if I can be of any help to anyone.
Jerry

Emery wrote

YES -- I had sent an e-mail to the Sect. of the Mountaineers (Carol
Mayo camayo requesting info on the rally and received
a mailing together with an application for FMCA and was told that I
had to be an FMCA member to attend the rally. Since my number is
F10324 and I have been a member since about 1971 that was no problem.
But, apparently, their insurance for their events is part of an FMCA
package and membership is required by attendees.

Perhaps Jerry Hoxsey will read this and respond with more info.

I have requested clarification from Carol Mayo, MOUNTAINAIRES secretary, as
to club memberships and their requirements. As stated before, I am of the
opinion that membership in no club would be required in order to attend a
rally as a guest. Awaiting Carol's reply.

Travis is right, it is much cooler in Durango in July.

I posted once before about this rally but for anyone who might have missed
it;
Mountainaires Rally in Durango Colorado July 21,22, and 23.
Contact me off net and I can supply registration info but make it soon as it
is getting close to a cutoff for such as per the camp operators deadline.

I have posted info on Durango on Gene's web page under the GMC EVENTS
CALANDER. Hope this will help those of you requesting more info. Or
contact me at jhoxsey

Jerry,

Thanks for posting the Durango pictures - looks like a nice park. How did
your coach do on the passes - I guess I'd just like to know what to expect
(speed, tranmission temp,...)
Looking forward to the rally,

Peter asked,". How did

I am in Farmington, so didn't encounter any passes on this trip. Last year
returning from Panoia rally we came over RED MOUNTAIN. Had the Egg in tow.
I have the Caspro POWER DRIVE and RAGUSA pan. I normally run 175 in the pan
on flat ground. I got up to about 190 at the top. Didn't push it so speed
was low but no problems at all. Heavy HAYDEN fan clutch worked like a
charm.
SURE IS A PRETTY DRIVE!!!!
Start early as you can; lots of things will be going on!!!!
See you there
Jerry

Thanks, Jerry!

The park is really nice. Bath houses(2) are clean and on combination locks
and almost all spaces are shaded with huge trees. Four trains a day each
direction. Should be great fun!!!
