If anyone wants to get a copy of the Installation and Operating
Instructions and Parts List for their DuoTherm you can download an
Acrobat file from Dometic's site.

For the model 54615-046 (13,500 btu used on the 77 model and others) go to:
http://www.rv.com/pdfs/19-739pdf

If you have a newer one with the optional heat strip hookup go to:
http://www.rv.com/pdfs/3104919.000.pdf

They should have others on their site if you have a different model
and you can do a search for the model number.

If you want to add the optional heat strip kit you should also
download the template: http://www.rv.com/pdfs/3101527.004.pdf

Now is a good time to add the heat strip to your unit. Camping World
has it on sale for $10.00 with $1.00 shipping on internet orders.
http://www.campingworld.com/ It is usually about $70.00.

If you decide to retrofit this on model 54615-046, you can order the
switch, female plug and decal from a DuoTherm dealer. The switch is
part number 20250.000 and is approximately $13.00. The female plug
is 314471.000 and is under $2.00. The new decal showing the heater
position is 3104083.005 (don't know the cost).

The hookup is shown on the 3104919.000.pdf file.

SORRY -- Please note a correction: this PDF file should be
http://www.rv.com/pdfs/19-739-5.pdf.

If anyone wants to search for other information it is a bit hard to
find on Dometic's site.

Go to http://www.dometic.com
then use the button "Contact Us"

This will get another screen. Go to the bottom and pick: "Product
Information Request". This brings up a screen called "Dometic
Explorer" which is their search engine. Enter your query such as
54615-046 and hit Execute. You could also search for the words "Air
Conditioner" "Refrigerator" etc. to find info on other products.

The best price that I found on a DuoTherm was at http://www.advrv.com

Their land line is 1-888-426-8707

First I called Dometic/DuoTherm to discuss the models that they
offer. I was interested in a 15,000 BUT Briskair model. The tech at
Dometic told me that they offer the 15,000 model two ways. The
standard and the high efficiency model. The high efficiency model
uses less amps of current. About 12.5 amps versus the 15 amps that
my current old Duotherm 13,500 BTU model draws.

When I called Advance RV I was told that the standard model was $580
and the high efficiency model was $615. The freight from Calif. to
NM was approx. $50.

Camping World could special order the 15,000 for me but their price
on the High Eff. model was $799. Even with a Club 10% discount they
were quite a bit higher.

You might also check with some more local dealers and tell them what
you can get on the internet. You might one willing to meet the
price. Of course, you'll have local sales tax as well which might be
more than the freight.

If you in the Florida area, Jim Bounds wants $690. I don't know
which model that is.
