Arch/Emery
GOOD Question Arch !! For this limited application, stuck in the
mud/sand, the OEM stud length is adequate to hold both wheels. The
Dually application should be limited to short term & slow speed use for
many reason...not going into that. They will clear the wheel well with
the proper ride height adjustment, but do in deed limit your turning
radius. FYI I don't endorse the need for longer stud length when going
to Alcoa Wheels. More damage is done in the removal & install process
than is gained. If you look at the OEM stud threads with Alcoa's
installed, the threads are protruding completely thru the Lug Nuts...what
more do you want???? More threads protruding will not provide additional
mechanical attachment. The requirement of 1 1/2 thread protrusion comes
from an inspection criteria to ensure that substitute bolts have not been
made, not to ensure mechanical strength is achieved.
That's my Opinion!
