After seeing Arch's post about the desire to cool down the motor after
shut down, I remembered seeing this site, stewart components, just last
Sunday. I got the link from www.shadetreemechanic.com , I love that
show...
I thought some of you may be interested in adding to your Christmas wish
list for that ultimate motor build.

Just something else (like we need more?) to talk about.

Chuck,

Replaced with two 14" Mr. Gasket fans from Jegs mounted behind radiator on a
flat aluminum shroud. There is room for an additional pair of 12" fans if
needed.

No recommendation because they have not been properly tested in severe
conditions.

Emery,

The spec sheet says 10.3 amps each.

The fans run intermittent, usually when not moving.

As for engine horsepower required, both fans together draw 20.6 amps or
about 290 watts or a bit under 4/10 hp. The alternator system is more than
50% efficient so less than one horsepower from the engine and only while
both fans are running.

The OEM fan with viscous clutch slipping continually saps an unknown
quantity of horsepower from the engine, whether cooling is needed or not.

As I mentioned before I do not recommend this for I have not yet thoroughly
tested it under toughest conditions. Such information is for experimentally
inclined readers only.
