Arch,

I heard a news blurb about a year ago regarding a company that had
patented technology to use the existing power grid for internet
service(all that big cable up there and they're only using the 60hz part
of the spectrum). Is that technology going anywhere? Sounds like it
had good potential.

BellSouth is already kickin' butt in Gwinnett County(north Atlanta) with
their digital TV service. Seems the old cable company had rested on its
monopolistic rear for too long.

The EHV Power grid from coast to coast has been retrofitted with a specia=
l wound static wire that contains multiple fiber optic strands. It was o=
nly designed to go on the EHV static system, not the lower voltage distri=
bution lines and never meant to be a part of the current carring line.

subscribers free dialup access until they
Get to your neighborhood. With NO banner ads!That will be cool. I use
netzero right now...Freedsl said they
Will have my account setup in a few weeks, but the free DSL line wont get
here for awhile after that.

Saw your post on the GMC board. Check if Flashcom serves your area. I have
192k service for $79.99 per month. I needed it because I work out of my home
sometimes. When I did my research they were the cheapest. Just beware, this
DSL: stuff is in high demand. It took a few months before I finally got
hooked up. Also, being a hot item, their customer service isn't vet service
minded (ie: you need them more than they need you). Just a thought.
