I just got a telemarketing call from the local phone company advising me that
DSL is now available. This is almost 1 year since cable modems became
available in my area. Now I have a choice! They offer free installation
etc. and at a price that is about the same as what I'm paying for the cable
setup. Things should start getting interesting as DSL and cable modem
operators compete for the business. Then that new system that Arch mentioned
a while ago might be coming out as well.
