"Mr Clinton" is still an entirely acceptable, even respectful, moniker. Just
as it was with Mr Nixon and Mr Reagan. Now if he'd used some of the
"honorifics" that come to MY mind, you might have a valid point.

I agree with you in principle that we owe respect to the office, and assure
you that I do have utmost respect for that office, as well as many others.

While I consider Ronald Reagan to have been the greatest president of my
lifetime, if not history, I am one who believes that "Mr. Reagan" is an
entirely respectful name for him. It has nothing to do with the individual
who happens to occupy the office at the moment.

Perhaps I rebel at the prospect of elevating our elected officials to the
status of royalty. If I were still in the Service, I would salute our
Commander In Chief and I would obey his lawful orders without hesitation or
comment. I would address him as "Mr. President." But I would not consider
him royalty or deity.

I assure you that I mean no offense to you, as I'm sure Dave didn't. I guess
we'll have to "agree to disagree."

Whoa...
Mike Finnicum's gonna get all over all you guys for talking politics. I
sent him some political information about which I thought he MIGHT have some
interest -- PRIVATELY -- and he went absolutely postal on me!

Well said! Lets keep soap box oratory off the Net and keep our personal
opinions to ourselves as I did when I referred to W.J Clinton as Mr
Clinton, out of respect for his office.
