I'm looking for a mechanic in San Diego with room to work on a 25 ft
1972 Toronado powered Revcon motor home. I need the final drive and
axels removed and replaced. I'm going to get the rebuilt units from
Marty Moores RV service here in San Diego. Marty Moores has a shop,
but they are backed up on jobs. Marty Moores charges $200 each for
rebuilt axels, is that reasonable? Don't know the cost of trading in
my differential until they see what's left of mine (left bearing is
loose).
I don't know if the differential will come out without removing some
of the steering parts or not. Does it on the the GMC?
I could do this work myself, but I don't have the space to work on it
and I'd rather find someone that is familiar with the Toronado drive
train.
If anyone has heard of a Revcon mailing list let me know and I can
leave the GMC list to GMC's
Maybe I need to start one. Any
Revcon owners out there drop me a line.
Thanks, John
