Why not use a radiator pressure test tool to put a positive pressure on your
cooling system as you drill?
8 to 16 # of positive pressure on your cooling system should keep any chips
from getting in the manifold as you break through. That should be enough to
do the job without busting everything else up.
You could have Louise keep the pressure on as you drill. I'd suggest you go
buy L-Pat Cool Daddy's rap CD "Pump it up" for appropriate motivational
