Door Jamb switch

When the ignition is switched on and the door is not closed one of the red
warning lights in the cluster on the dash lights up and says "door open".

Well Arch, you have just completed the monumental task of letting the
warning light on your dash know that your door is closed. If you didn't see
the light then it is not working either. Good luck on that one. Darren

Wow! I think I can answer this one!

On our new Palm Beach there's a red light in the dash that says "Door Ajar"
when the door's ajar. I reckon that switch is the one that triggers that
light.

Mine turns on a light just inside the door at the floor.

I am not for certain but I think it does two things. One it turns on the
floor lights and the other it shows on the dash that the door is open or ajar
when the ignition switch is on. At least that is what I was told. I asked
sometime ago when I got it, and I think Golby provided the answere. Chuck
