Don Hart passed last night. I got this message from two granddaughters that posted this on FB.

I might have put this up sooner, but it took a while to sink in and then I had to read all the postings to be sure. Yesterday, we (Don and I) had a
telephone conversation because he tried to get to the SEMNO lunch and missed getting there.

This is the guy that drove about a hundred miles to Evart MI to bring me a starter when none were available in range. A true member of the GMC
community.

This is one of those notes that you really don't like to post, but those that would like to know need to hear it.

NO!!! That's some of the worst news I've ever seen here! Don was a dear
friend for the past 20+ years of GMC community membership. He was a true
gentleman and ALWAYS willing to help anyone. He will be sorely missed.

We will also miss Don.
He was a great guy.
A couple of years ago he picked up a chest of drawers for us in Ohio and dropped them off at my parents in Michigan so we could pick it up when we got there a couple of weeks later. He probably drove more than a hundred miles out of his way that time. I understand that was the way he did things.

He will be missed.

Oh NO. I talked with Don Thursday afternoon. He wanted to confirm he was mailing his GMC Dixielanders dues and it might miss the deadline by a day or
two. I told him not to worry that he was covered. We chatted about his coaches and extra parts on hand. We discussed putting a list of sale items
together that I would add to the next newsletter. He also talked about missing his wife.

That is indeed sad. He was a good guy and didn't live all that far from me. He will be missed. It seems I was just up to his place, but as it turns
out after looking at my calendar:

"Thursday 5/24/2007 Dropped off rear seats and the windows from the '76 PB and put it in his parts coach. Picked up a set of 455 heads in exchange."

I don't think I had seen him since then. This goes to show how fleeting life is and that we need to take advantage in a positive way of the time we
have.
