Just saw an old friend at the market last night. He told me his son just
blew the engine on his dirt track race car. He says it will take them a
year to rebuild because it will cost $8000 to build a competitive engine
to replace the old one. They have never won a race or really got close, but
they love racing.... I have another friend who has $13,000 in chrome
alone, on his classic Hot Rod.
I asked racer, and he said they had never slept in the car one night or
camped out in it at the ocean. I guess I will continue to put money into
the GMC, we all have our hobbies. Now if we could just get good trannies
and engines.
