Does anyone have experience with the Coleman mach 1 power saving AC?

I made the mistake of putting a 15k btu AC in the rear bed area. Way too much AC for the small area. Cycles too much, it was meant for a larger area.

The original AC in the rear was a 11k btu unit(once again the engineers had it right!). The only AC units that are 11k or smaller are the Coleman mach
1 power saver at 11kbtu's, or the low profile Coleman polar cub at 9k btu.

My main concern is the noise level when the compressor kicks on. I would think the mach 1 would be the quietest being it has the standard vertical
compressor. But the cub might be nice because the area I'm trying to cool is about 8 feet by 7 feet. And as low as the btu output on the cub goes,
the compressor will stay on much longer. So more moisture removal and less compressor starts.

Does anyone have any personal experience with these units? Or forward a link to reviews that discusses this issue? Recommendations??

Thanks, Scott.

I installed two of the Mach Power Savers 9Ks in my 77, front and rear. My motivation was easier use on inverter generators and noise level, though
the fan noise is still pretty high IMO, compressor kicking on/off isn't bad. Assuming you're not parked in direct sunlight at > 90F one unit will
keep it comfortable inside.

Hard to quantify the noise level (i do have a decibel meter?), still wish it was less, but guess I'm used to it.

Andy,
You say "easier use on inverter", does that mean you run these off your
batteries sometimes? If so what do you have for batteries?

I ditched my Onan generator for a Yamaha 3000IESB Inverter Generator. These are MUCH quieter than the Onans, I haul it on a hitch mounted rack and
offload when parked to de-couple the vibration. I spend quite a bit of time parked off the grid, several weeks a year, works great.

The Coleman mach 8 polar cub (9000btu) and the Coleman mach 1 power saver (11,000 btu) will run on a 2000w
Honda generator.
My main concern on the noise level would be what is heard on the inside of the coach when the compressor kicks on. Not too concerned about the cooling
fan on the outside.
Scott.
