Are we talking about the hinge where the bunk attaches to the wall? If that's
the case I could see how that would do considerable damage if you stuck your
finger in there and then dropped the bunk. That would sort of be like
sticking your finger in a guillotine.

We hardly ever use the bunk, but I'm sure going to keep the potential of
cutting my finger off in mind if and when we use it again. It seems when we
do use the bunk it is after driving a long time and we are all tired. Then we
are in a hurry to set it up so that the rest of us can get some sleep.

Richard - we are not talking about the hinge at the wall but rather
the hinged support where the two sections of the bunk fold together.
When the front part folds under the back part that mechanism clamps
together very tightly when the bunk pushes back against the wall when
folded down.
