This from FB for those that don't bother the read over there.

January 1 David Blackshear had a stroke. He has largely recovered, but apparently is still having some trouble speaking.

He did write that all prayers will be graciously accepted.

Matt,
It is easy to misinterpret the FB post. We almost did. We have been in contact with Dave and it is his wife Sue that suffered the stroke, not David.
She is recovering well and last we heard is staying at her sisters home. Just thought you'd want to know.

G'day,

Jeez!

Didn't David have a heart attack last year?

David had 6 bypasses on his heart early last spring. He has almost fully
recovered and looked really good at Mansfield last fall.

Sue looked great too at that time. He said all her control is coming back
very well except for her speech. I pray that will soon follow.

Not sure about the confusion. GMCMI posted on January 4 on the GMCMI
facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/GMCMI/) and on the gmcmi.com
website - under latest news (http://www.gmcmi.com/gmcmi-online-2/).

1-4-2017 | Sue Blackshear, VP Eastern States, Suffers a Stroke

Information from David: Sue had a stroke on Monday. They were in Lafayette
with family and were getting ready to head home. Last evening her
swallowing is mostly ok and they upgraded diet from pureed to soft and she
is feeding herself with some assistance. She can walk by herself with some
steadying help. She seems to understand everything and can use hand
squeezes to answer. Still no speech. I think progress is good so far. They
are at the Our Lady of Lourdes in Lafayette. Lets keep them in our prayers.

-------------

Last correspondence from David indicated that they had planned on leaving
this past Wednesday for home. I have not heard if they have reached home as
of yet. Will update when more information is received.
