That's actually correct. Nothing but GST and PST (State & Fed Tax) and PST
doesn't get collected at the Border so usually you only have to pay the
7%GST.
The parts have to be made in the USA though so it's important that the parts
are either marked or that the invoice states "Made in USA".

No tariffs, but some distributors make up for it. :-)

The biggest problem is the paperwork associated with it if you're shipping.
(Even more since NAFTA). Some folks (Cinnebar for one) know how to do it.
Many don't or can't be bothered.

It sometimes makes for real interesting shopping.

I'm fortunate in that I'm only 15 minutes north of the border way out here
on the West Coast. [g]
