After 40+ years the plastic fiberoptic fibers that light the Wiper, Washer, and Lights labels on the dash loose some of their ability to transmit light. The standard incandescent bulb cannot put out enough light to make the fiber optics work properly anymore. I installed a LED, part number 194-WW3HP from superbrightleds.com, and it provides enough light to overcome the degraded fiber optic fibers.
Remove the lower dash panel and find the fiberoptic lamp assembly above the headlight switch. Be gentle, don't pull on the delicate plastic fibers! Grasp only the hard plastic and twist the bulb holder out of the fiberoptic assembly. Install the new LED and turn on headlight to make sure it lights. Twist bulb holder into fiber optic assembly and you are good to go.
