Lanier,

Ditch the "pinch-type" clamps. You need the "wind-up" clamps that are
installed with a torque wrench, like the ones illustrated in the service
manual. I had a hard time finding them - finally went to a driveshaft
shop. Some people recommend "double-wrapping" them, which mean you need
to buy really long ones for the outboard end of the boot. I understand
that you can buy the strap material and the clips separately and make
them any length you want. Haven't found a source for that yet.

Lanier.......I've answered this one before, but find a local garage or
driveshaft shop that has a "Band It" tool and strapping. This is what I use
in my driveshaft business. They are very strong and will not slip off. Do
not use the split boots. They're not worth a ding damn.

Some of us have had problems keeping them on. Also, is there one available
that can be replaced without removing the joint, boot, etc.

Jim,

Where do you get the strapping and clips from? I've got the tool(picked
it up at NAPA), but I couldn't locate a source for the rolled strapping
and clips. I finally found the clamps at an Atlanta driveshaft shop(no
easy task itself), but they weren't long enough to double wrap.
