The torque specification is in the shop manual. I doubt you could
double wrap the 19" clamps.

Might be a good thing to have in your tool kit. Could guess at the
torque if you needed a quick repair. After torqueing six of them, I
could probably do it without the torque wrench now. The wrench would
"clik" when the rubber under the band began to spread.

BTW, the clamp tool I bought from NAPA was part no. 3191 - $21.49.

Yep - they're made by Band-it. Prolly the same one's that I got from
the driveshaft shop. I'm still on the trail of a "bulk" kit. The
following was sent privately to me by another GMCnetter:

Also, a Toro list subscriber suggested trying packaging supply houses.
Ask for rolls of 1/4 inch steel strapping stock.
