Hi All,
I just picked up the CV Boot clamp bands Emery mentioned. They were special
order at NAPA #3416 @$2.99 each. They are not the same as the original OEM
GM clamps. I don't know if the original GM tool from Kent Moore will work.
There are no tabs to lock them down when you reach the correct torque
setting and bend back. I am not even sure how to lock them down, the only
way would be to hammer the loop around them flat, but I don't think that
will hold tightly enough. Emery have you used these? Am I missing a part?
Any comments?

Mark - the original tool should work fine to tighten them. I also
found that they didn't have the tabs to lock them but I decided to
just take a center punch and put a dimple into the center of the band
when I had the tool tightened and then I released the tool and cut
the band about 1/2 inch from the band and bent it back over and
tapped it with a ball peen hammer. It seems to be holding just fine.
