My wife has taiked me into sanding down the cutting board sink covers.
They look pretty nice after sanding down to bare wood. Should I seal
them with varnish, varithane or some such or just leave them au-natural.
Also would like to replace propane oven, which has'nt ever been used,
with a convection microwave. Anybody know of one that will fit?
Thought Maytag Sam had mentioned one once.

Hi Bill,
When I was a kid in a school woodworking class, we made cutting boards
shaped like a pig. I remember that we sealed them with bees wax. We rubbed
it on the surface and then put them into a heated oven which melted the wax
into the wood pores. My mother used it for years.

That sounds like the answer I was waiting to hear. Thanks.

Bill,
I have installed the Sharp Model R-820B Convection Microwave oven that
has been talked about on the net. I know of at least 4 members of our
club that has put them in this past winter. They will fit with small
modifications in the same area where the stove was. You need to
provide adequate ventilation. I installed mine above the new stove top
that I installed modifying the vent system and it came out great. I
don't like to bend over to put things in or look to see if everything is
ok. I do not yet have a digital camera but will see if I can get the
pictures that a member of the club took and post them on my web site.
