Two years ago I made some improvements (i. e. carburetor overhaul,
headers, Flowmaster mufflers and 3" exhaust piping and 3.42:1 ring and
pinion gear) and experienced the same surging phenomenon you have.
Replaced the cruise control transducer, however it had no effect on the
surging.

I too, have obtained another cruise control unit (
