While we're on the cruise control topic, I need a new servo(vacuum
style). Last time I checked, GM still stocked them for around $90. Is
there a better place to get one?

Patrick:

If you're looking to put that much money into cruise, I don't feel its
cost effective to stick with the original system, which lacks a resume
feature. You also have to replace the transducer periodically.

I purchased a unit that Clarence Buskirk recommended and uses, by
Audiovox. It's an electronic unit. I paid $85 plus another $25 for the
control stalk which fits on the turn signal lever that's been shortened.
It has resume, etc

I haven't installed it yet. Let me know if you need the part numbers.

Jim Bounds also sells, I believe, a similar unit. Contact him about it.

Patrick,
I will check today to see what I can get, call me at work today, I do
have several used servos I have taken off when installing the new
units. I'll give you one for the freight to clean up my shop and get
them out of my way. Let me know your pleasure!

Arch,
It is ashame that happened to you concerning those front brake hoses,
theis net can go a long was to help communication and knowledge is
power!

There are many parts that are readily available locally to you and I
feel sharing that info is what we're here tp do. Some parts are
difficult to find even with the cross #'s and those item can more easily
be found through a specialty supplier. Lastly, some parts are produced
only by specialty shops and you have no chouce by going to them.

I have made it my mission to try and sift through the fact from fiction
and provide parts source information and hopefully keep you out of such
mud pits. I always listen and learn and am very interested in all we
say here on the net, others should get involved.

Arch you will find that the correct hoses are about $48. Be sure that if
you paid less they are the correct ones. Check the part # so you do not get
into trouble. Gateway has them also.
