I would appreciate some input on cruise control replacement units. Looks
like my cruise control on the 78 Birchaven is on it last leg. I would like
to update the unit so as to have the resume feature, etc. How much? From
where?
Thanks in advance.

I think it's a little over a hundred bucks. Several GMC's have been
upgraded to this control with great success.

David,
I got the Rostra from Duane Simmons and it works great with good
installation instructions. Check it out. You can find him on the GMCWS web
site under Links.

Not true!

An all electronic Audiovox cruise control has both resume and tap up/down in one
MPH increments. Show me where the original cruise control does that??

Plus you eliminate a whole bunch of vacuum tubing and hardware in the engine
compartment.

Not even close to "mickey".
