When I went to blow out my water lines/system I discovered that a
previous owner had let the water lines freeze. These lines are not the
same size as regular 1/2 " house lines. These lines are to be used with
flared fittings.
(my coach is 1973) I found that I could repair using the common 1/2"
house copper lines by using 1/2" street elbows. The inside diameter of
the "street elbow" is the same as the outside diameter of the GMC copper
lines. You can do a solder repair using either 45 or 90 degree fittings
and filling in the damaged area with the 1/2" house copper pipe.. While
in the USA you might find the proper fittings, in Canada they do not
exist to my findings. If you are in a pinch for repairs try these
fittings.
