Compressorm Question

Recently made wiring change as recommended by Duane ("stiff wire from coach
buss to relay"). Pump ran faster, also installed new airbags. All seemed
great, but now pump runs about 15 seconds every hour or so while parked with
out ignition switch in on position. I must have a slow leak somewhere but
why does pump run without ignition switch being on? Never had this problem
before. Is this normal?

Neely,
It sounds like you have the relay wired incorrectly. The original wire that
went to the compressor (through the pressure switch) should now go to the coil
of the relay. The new big feed should go to one side of the contactors and the
other side of the contactors should go to the pressure switch (where the
original wire was connected).

Where did you pick up "signal power" for the relay? On mine, I connected to
the wire that used to power the compressor(also changed to a 5A fuse and
relabeled fuse panel accordingly) and ran from there to the pressure switch.
>From the pressure switch, I ran the wire to an illuminated rocker
switch(like you'd use for fog lamps) mounted next to my power level valves.
Then from the rocker switch to the relay. Now I can turn the compressor off
if I want and the switch lights up whenever the compressor runs. Since I
pulled signal power from the original compressor circuit, the compressor
only runs when the ignition switch is on.
