CommuniGate is a mail server prog I'm currently evaluating and since they
don't do a moneyback guarantee I have to put up with nag advertising. ( I
would've preferred to buy so that I can do a 'real' test, but.... )

One of the problems I have with email is that I switch computers frequently
so I'm trying to switch to a mail server where the mail actually stays on
the server marked read/unread instead of being downloaded to the PC and
cleared. Leaving it on the server forever as some mail progs allow you to do
isn't the answer either as that really slows things down and doesn't tell me
that an email was read already.

Another byproduct is that only headers are downloaded giving the chance to
mark only messages you want. Not important at home, but on the road it helps
to keep connect time down.

Sorry about the lengthy answer.... but you asked :-)

BTW, for the techno curious: most email delivery is done by POP3. I'm trying
to implement IMAP which allows more flexibility including 'shared' mail
folders. Of course most ISP's don't offer IMAP for the simple reason of
storage required. With POP3 as soon as you pick up your email they have the
space back.

The bottomline is that I have too many toys and I want to play with all of
them. [g]

He who has the most toys at the end......still dies. Just to return you to the
real world. Darren
