Working on my 1975 Avion dash air and found several things interesting. #1
there is a single wire that goes across the dash behind the glove box and
continues around under the windshield into the plastic unit including the
ashtray under the passenger side window. Anyone have any idea where that
goes?

#2. The vacuum control tubing that connects to the valve on the passenger
vent outlet has shrunk up and pulled loose. It is now too short to
reconnect. The outlet vent in the middle of the dash does not seem to have a
tube to it. A. how does one extend that tubing? And b. is that normal?

That single wire likely goes to the door switch. When it’s grounded you should get a buzzer or the door open in the dash lights.
After 45 years the tubing probably has shrunk.
You can buy rubber couplings for tubing from about any size tubing at an auto parts store. Find one that fits tightly around the outside of the tubing.
